Raffles for Hear4Beer (Walking4Hearing)!

We just added some great prizes to the raffle to support an awesome local cause! Checkout the items with the tag [H4B]. All proceeds from these items will go to support Hear4Beer (Walking4Hearing). Here's a bit of info from one of our local members who will be walking in the event and some info on a child you will be supporting! 

"This summer marks ourfifth year participating in the Walk4Hearing in Chicago, and once again, we’re walking in support of Ellie and countless other children who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Ellie was born with hearing loss and received her first hearing aids at just three months old. Two years ago, her hearing progressed to profound loss, and she received a cochlear implant on her right side. Her left side will follow, as her hearing continues to decline due to Pendred Syndrome—a genetic condition that causes progressive hearing loss in children.

Now 5½ years old, Ellie’s speech is currently at the level of a 3-year-old. But with daily, intensive speech therapy at her school for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, she is making steady and inspiring progress. Our hope is that with continued support, Ellie will soon be mainstreamed—learning, growing, and experiencing the joy of childhood just like any other little girl her age.

This year, we are aiming to raise $5,000 to support the Hearing Loss Association of America and Ellie’s Deaf Program, which directly benefits her and her friends through essential resources, advocacy, and support.
